The trees were planted by volunteers so all the money we gave the Trust was spent on trees which is what our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madebytheforge.co.uk\/pages\/planting-trees.html\" target=\"_blank\">tree planting pledge<\/a> is all about.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.madebytheforge.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Trees-being-planted-truck.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.madebytheforge.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Trees-being-planted-truck.jpg\" alt=\"Trees being planted + truck\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1877\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.madebytheforge.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Trees-being-planted-truck.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.madebytheforge.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Trees-being-planted-truck-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Below is a recent update from Will Cranstoun the West Suffolk Sites Manager.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; The trees at Grove Farm have established themselves well in somewhat hot and dry conditions.  We (the reserve staff) have been going over frequently to water them making sure their roots get off to the best start.  We also placed bark chippings around their base to retain moisture and stop the ground drying out.  As you may be aware we have also substantially protected the trees from deer browsing by means of wooden tree guards.
