At Made by the Forge, we’re always looking for ideas for metal products, eminently practical and long lasting of course but in the case of our new range of coat hooks, artistic too. We’ve known talented artist Cindy Lee Wright for twenty years. She specialises in wood and metal sculptures and 3D wall art. We teamed up with her to create life-size slices of the English countryside with its own inhabitant sitting over five sturdy coat hooks.
Our coat hook range features a variety of birds in a diversity of natural habitats as well as two mammals, one in particular standing out. We have a blackbird on an oak branch, a wren on a willow branch,
a little owl (main header image above) and a robin on a wild rose branch.
The ever-popular hedgehog takes the air on his own patch of grass,
while an outstretched hare running is our nod to a classic and beloved British film. And it’s definitely not Watership Down…
These unique pieces of wall art feature extremely strong, handmade hooks that will not bend. Some of the hooks follow the contours of the branch which, in the case of the little owl, wren and blackbird, are not horizontally straight on the wall. They are made with heavy duty sheet steel, 100% recyclable and with a 575 degree blue heat effect also known as Magpie Blue. They are perfect gifts for any nature lover.
