Curved Curtain Pole for Doors

A Curved Door Curtain Pole makes a stunning alternative to a regular door pole and has the advantage of having no moving parts. The semi-circle is slightly bigger than the arc of the door, and so you can come and go as you please, curtains drawn or undrawn and generally meet in the middle. They are very well suited to cafes and restaurants where unwelcome draughts can disturb diners sitting near the door. Curved Door Curtain Poles are also great in wider doorways with high ceilings and will add charm and elegance to this type of space. More »

Product description

Aesthetically, the Curved Door Curtain Pole is eye-catching, and with the right curtain, it can be a real talking point. Few doors are totally immune to the elements, and in winter, fierce winds can squeeze through the tiniest cracks. Whether you are looking to hang curtains over your door for aesthetic reasons or to keep out drafts, Made by the Forge will have a solution for you.

Our special 'Dog Leg Return Brackets' are an industry special and add massive structural strength to the Curved Door Curtain Pole compared to others on the market as they transfer the weight from the pole back to the wall.

The Wall Brackets are generally either fitted to the door frame on each side or just outside the frame to keep it as tight to the opening as possible. A bracket in the middle is suspended from the ceiling to add to the support and we can make this to any length drop you require. The curtains are normally drawn to the middle.

When your order arrives, you’ll find your new Curved Door Pole, mounting brackets and Curtain Rings you’ve ordered as well as the screws needed to secure the brackets, so you can get your new Curved Door Pole up without delay.

Measuring up

Measuring for a Curved Door Pole is a simple job and requires just three quick steps:

  1. Firstly, where is the pole going to go? Stand back, look at the door, and check that there are no beams, light switches, or fittings in the way of a semi-circle around the door. As our door curtain poles are all handmade to order, we can also create a bespoke solution just for you..

We have a range of drop brackets from 5cm to 50cm so you can hang your Curved Door Curtain Pole anywhere from 5cm to 50cm below the ceiling. If you have particularly high ceilings we can create a custom bracket just for you.
  2. Measure the width of your door/entrance area, this is where the brackets mount to the wall/door frame. Ensure that point A and point B are at least 10cm clear of the doorway. Remember to measure in centimetres.
  3. Measure the depth required (the distance from the door to where the centre of the pole will be). This is typically half the width of the first measurement. Remember to measure centimetres.

At Boxx Creative, we’re driven to find suppliers who align with our ethos of ‘consciously creating’ and who’s products complement our interior design schemes. Having been referred to Made by the Forge by another interior designer, and after further investigation into their set up and background, we knew we wanted to collaborate with them on our project. Their passion for their craft, personal service, and friendly team delivered a high quality product, on time and to budget.

Finally got the rail up and its great. Had to bend it a touch to work in our crooked house but it looks great.

I was a bit anxious when I received the portiere as it was SO heavy and I thought it might take down the plaster of my Victorian semi’s party wall! However, I sensibly got an excellent carpenter to instal it for me and I am thrilled with it! It literally swings open easily as I open the door (which is good as I have to open the door with two hands).

I am glad I opted for your portiere and not a cheaper, less sturdy version. The curtain keeps the draughts out from my old, Victorian door!
