I'm very pleased with the kitchen towel rail and have attached a photo. I love the fact it has two screws for each bracket - I think it will definitely be sturdier than the one it has replaced.
Perhaps the brackets are meant to go right next to the end balls on the towel rail, but I was more concerned about hiding the old holes in the wall.

Our lounge bay window was a particularly complex shape. We found Richard's "can do" attitude incredibly refreshing, seeing this challenge as an opportunity, not a problem.
The final product has been superbly made. It fits the window beautifully, and the curtains run smoothly along the intricate shape. We feel most fortunate to have a piece of beautiful craftsmanship like this in our home.
Next was our dining-room bay window , which presented a different range of issues to deal with . Once again our request for a pole was greeted with enthusiasm . We were advised as to how to measure and prepare the best possible template, and further measurement checks asked from us along the way as necessary, so that once again the perfect bay pole was made. We never once doubted that this would indeed be the outcome. It is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship.

We had a number of beautiful Curtain poles made by a local Blacksmith for our 17th century Mill Cottage. They are beautiful but the guy who made them doesn’t make curtain rings. Modern curtain rings would have spoiled the show. Luckily a friend of ours had purchased curtain rings from Madebythe forge and recommended them to us.
The rings were quite expensive but when they arrived we loved them. Refreshingly heavy, they are mini works of art and fit perfectly to our poles. Super quality, we love them.
The order and delivery process was easy and I would definitely buy from Madeby the forge again.

I contacted madebytheforge to see if they could help me with an iron stand for my late husbands sphere urn. Richard first contacted me with those magic words "I'm sure we can help". We exchanged a couple of ideas, then they got to work. Despite my initial sizing being incorrect, Richard was quick to respond and rectify my error. Stand is perfect. I attach a photo of the somewhat unusual use to which the curtain rail has been put. On single or small flights of steps without anything to act as a handrail as the sides the less agile (me!) need some sort of support. I find conventional handrails in these situations can look clumsy and intrusive (and expensive!)so I thought this would be a more elegant solution. It works very well and I have another place where one is needed so I should like to order another exactly the same. The only minor issue is the grub screw locating the ball to the post is not quite man enough for the job when used in this way so perhaps could be replaced with a self tapping screw of some kind?

I have used MBTF twice now for curtain poles and associated items. Richard and the team are brilliant, first class in every respect. The products will exceed your highest expectations in style, weight, feel and authenticity. Are they cheap? No, absolutely not! They are however, very good value for an exceptional hand made product.
It is hard to do the curtain poles and accessories justice in the photographs but believe me, they are stunning.

I’ll send you more photos when the curtain is hung which will be at the end of March. I include one photo showing the position of the button relative to the door frame which worked out fine in the end.

I was a bit anxious when I received the portiere as it was SO heavy and I thought it might take down the plaster of my Victorian semi’s party wall! However, I sensibly got an excellent carpenter to instal it for me and I am thrilled with it! It literally swings open easily as I open the door (which is good as I have to open the door with two hands).
I am glad I opted for your portiere and not a cheaper, less sturdy version. The curtain keeps the draughts out from my old, Victorian door!

Have tried on numerous occasions to get a photo for you, but they are fitted onto beams in very small, dark rooms, made even darker by the scaffolding I currently have up.
I’ve got one passable close up (attached), but even then it’s had to be heavily photoshopped!

Thank you very much for the rail. It has taken me two years to decide about the rail because I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. As promised, I have attached some photos of the rail in place. As you can see, I have stayed true to my ‘tear sheet’ influence of hanging the tea towel on the rail near the sink.
I will be ordering a few more hooks from the website because I was unsure as to how the hooks would look on the rail in reality.
