The company is a great find - responsive and helpful, particularly because they make a brilliant curtain ring called a passing ring. Years ago, I had had some curtain poles made by a local blacksmith. Which were made to fit the window reveals of our old house but some have finials that are just a bit too large for one size ring to pass over. The next size up is too big. Hey presto, using the passing ring in the same size does the trick - a genius invention. Made by the Forge thinks of everything. It’s so nice to find craftsman-made curtain fittings. Thank you.

I'm very pleased with the kitchen towel rail and have attached a photo. I love the fact it has two screws for each bracket - I think it will definitely be sturdier than the one it has replaced.
Perhaps the brackets are meant to go right next to the end balls on the towel rail, but I was more concerned about hiding the old holes in the wall.

Our lounge bay window was a particularly complex shape. We found Richard's "can do" attitude incredibly refreshing, seeing this challenge as an opportunity, not a problem.
The final product has been superbly made. It fits the window beautifully, and the curtains run smoothly along the intricate shape. We feel most fortunate to have a piece of beautiful craftsmanship like this in our home.
Next was our dining-room bay window , which presented a different range of issues to deal with . Once again our request for a pole was greeted with enthusiasm . We were advised as to how to measure and prepare the best possible template, and further measurement checks asked from us along the way as necessary, so that once again the perfect bay pole was made. We never once doubted that this would indeed be the outcome. It is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship.

We had a number of beautiful Curtain poles made by a local Blacksmith for our 17th century Mill Cottage. They are beautiful but the guy who made them doesn’t make curtain rings. Modern curtain rings would have spoiled the show. Luckily a friend of ours had purchased curtain rings from Madebythe forge and recommended them to us.
The rings were quite expensive but when they arrived we loved them. Refreshingly heavy, they are mini works of art and fit perfectly to our poles. Super quality, we love them.
The order and delivery process was easy and I would definitely buy from Madeby the forge again.

I attach a photo of the somewhat unusual use to which the curtain rail has been put. On single or small flights of steps without anything to act as a handrail as the sides the less agile (me!) need some sort of support. I find conventional handrails in these situations can look clumsy and intrusive (and expensive!)so I thought this would be a more elegant solution. It works very well and I have another place where one is needed so I should like to order another exactly the same. The only minor issue is the grub screw locating the ball to the post is not quite man enough for the job when used in this way so perhaps could be replaced with a self tapping screw of some kind?

Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with my gorgeous candlesticks. Slightly wonky like my candles! Which Have melted in the cupboard!! Totally individual and delicious. What a great project to use up your bits.
