Founded in 2000 by blacksmith Nigel Tyas and his partner, Elizabeth Stocker, the brand built a reputation for distinctive hand-forged ironwork, bringing together beautiful design, traditional blacksmithing and an instinctive understanding of how iron can transform an interior.
From striking chandeliers and sculptural wall lights to beautifully detailed curtain poles, Nigel's designs have found their way into homes and interiors where individuality and quality matter.
Today, that story continues.
When Nigel Tyas Ironwork faced an uncertain future, Richard, myself, Elizabeth and Nigel recognised an opportunity to preserve something special. As fellow makers with a shared passion for British blacksmithing, we were determined to keep the designs alive and ensure the skills behind them continued to be passed on.
We brought Nigel Tyas Ironwork into the Made by the Forge family, working alongside Nigel and Elizabeth to carry forward the brand they created.
Nigel continues to share his knowledge and experience with our team, helping us preserve the details, techniques and character that make these designs so distinctive. Our skilled blacksmiths now forge the collection here in Suffolk, with the same respect for the original designs and the quality that has always mattered to us.
For us, this is about more than keeping a name alive. It is about protecting a legacy of British design, supporting skilled blacksmithing and making sure beautiful, well-made things continue to be made.
