I was looking for a black metal pole for our utility room, don't love the cheap plastic coated black ones, and looking at the department store ones that are barely any better, but SO expensive, thought, these must be getting close to the cost of a hand-forged rail. Googled. Found Made by the Forge, and the "express" (not made to measure) poles that I think are exceptional value. So happy with it. We just stood around holding the finials for a while because they're so tactile (and we're a bit strange).
I'll take photos when the pole is up (which will be after a bit of rewiring and decorating).

Wow! These shelf brackets are just amazing! I've had various things made by forges around the country in the past but the quality of the craftsmanship of these brackets surpasses everything I have seen before. Perfection. I was very excited opening the box I can tell you! I'm now finishing the wooden part of the shelf ready to put it up in my log cabin and will enjoy the whole thing very much, thank you. By the way I also wanted to say that the packaging and especially the little book of ideas made for a very quality product too. Good for you!

I just wanted to says (rather late) thank you for all your gorgeous curtain poles. This is the third housing project I’ve used you on and you really never disappoint. And everyone I recommend you to has the same experience. I wanted to send a couple of (shoddy) photos of some of your pole in situ as they really make it. It was a tumble down farm house in southern Italy.

Attached is a photo of the fitted pole. We wanted to test out one first to ensure it was what we were looking for and we now have another 7 downstairs windows to finish in this style. We haven't yet decided on the tie backs/window furniture which we will do when all the poles / curtains are completed.
We like the way the straightness of the pole and the cannon ball finials emphasise the curvature of the rather old ceiling!

Just to let you know the curtain rails arrived this morning, everything was well packaged and all is present as expected.
This is our 3rd order as we are working our way around the house replacing the previous assorted curtain rails.
The curtain rails are solid and simple in appearance with the finials providing variety in each of the different rooms.
I am sure we will purchase further rails for the remainder of the rooms.

Thank you so much for the response. I am very happy that you have a small team and the personal touch is one of the primary reasons I wanted to work with your company. For sure I could have been the one that didn't understand the measurement instructions correctly. I definitely have no complaints and I'm very happy to work with you. I read through the description again and it was definitely my mistake to measure from the bottom of the hook because you clearly state that it should be from the top of the pole. Just a small suggestion, but it might be helpful to have some simple diagrams for things like how to measure things like this so that those of us who are more visual don't make this sort of mistake.
