All of our curtain poles and finials are lovingly hand crafted and forged by our expert blacksmiths at our UK forge. A closer look will reveal unique patterns of indentations, formed by hammermarks during the forging process. This means that every curtain pole and finial is different; bursting with personality and charm.
Our Houghton 16mm curtain poles feature a large button finial. Different to our other finials, this is a much thicker design of button constructed from solid wrought iron. Simplisitic in style, it will fit into most forms of modern or contemporary décor perfectly, whilst also serving their primary function of preventing the curtain rings from sliding off of the end of the pole. We’ve decided to name each of our new range of 16mm finials after places that are all part of the Made by the Forge story and places where we have planted trees.
We named the Houghton Finial after the famous coastal estate in north Norfolk. If you remember the wide-open sand flats at the end of Shakespeare in Love, that’s Houghton beach.
We will be planting nearly 4,000 trees this year at the estate in February 2021. For more details please click here.
Material: Our 16mm curtain poles are made to measure from solid 16mm bar.
Finish: Choose from a matt black finish or a natural beeswax finish. Both finishes are traditional and will enhance the beauty of the wrought iron pole.
Dimension: Finial length 2cm, diameter 3cm. The curtain bracket sits the pole 6cm from the wall.
